About

Hello — I'm Jacqui.

"The power of photography — the smile frozen in that split second of time, with no knowledge of what the future may hold."

I started my journey in photography as a young adult, and the work grew alongside my first child. I wanted to capture every moment as she grew from a newborn, to a precious baby, to a little girl.

I was always the mum taking the pictures — trying to document the small things, do what I truly love: capture the innocence and raw beauty of a child, and make the ordinary extraordinary.

My aim is for my pictures to be uncomplicated and timeless. The beauty and innocence of a newborn, a child, a family. Everyday moments seen through fresh eyes.

I have a small home studio in Cashmere on Brisbane's Northside, and I shoot on location across Lawnton, Albany Creek, Eatons Hill, Warner, North Lakes, Murrumba Downs, Samford and Chermside — wherever the light is right. Each session is built around your family — distinctive expressions, playful moments, the candid in-between. I have the patience, time and knowledge needed to handle, pose and photograph babies and children, and I take a great deal of care in selecting, editing and finishing every image you receive.

My studio

A quiet room for soft light.

Finally my new studio is finished — it's my favourite space, and I get to share it with my wonderful clients.

I mostly use natural light from the sliding doors, which gives a beautiful soft quality and means there's no harsh flash for sleepy babies. Soft, cuddly blankets serve as backdrops for newborns and infants. Their colours and textures photograph really well, and I keep things muted and simple so the baby is always the picture.

I have a generous wardrobe of wraps and headbands — most in neutral tones — so we can match a session to a nursery, a piece of clothing, or just the mood you have in mind. The prop collection is my favourite part of the studio.

Come in and say hello.

I take a small number of sessions each season. If something here resonates, I'd love to hear from you.
